Which Facebook Ads Should You Be Running?

Know the types of ads we like to run, and when it is best to use them!
Discover which ads will best help you find motivated sellers on social media

Business advertising like direct mail, brochures/billboards, radio broadcasting, commercials and many more have been around for hundreds of years, but for the past decade there's been a new advertising guy in town...Facebook ads.

It seems like everybody is on Facebook these days, and you’re right they are! About 68% of adults in the U.S. have a Facebook with an average of 35 active minutes per day. Facebook is not just a social network, but an advertising opportunity for your business through Facebook Ads!

Facebook ads are paid messages cultivated by YOU (or us if you’re looking for an ad manager) that are placed on Facebook for a specific audience. Ads can appear in the News Feed, messenger, marketplace and Instagram. The placement of ads depends on the audience. The audience is completely customizable by location and special interests.

Facebook lets you create objectives or goals for specific ads and campaigns. These goals might look like:

  • Awareness

This goal will increase people's awareness of your business, brand or service, and show your ad to as many people as possible in your target audience.

Use when: You’re just starting your brand to get your community aware of who you are and what you’re offering!

  • Traffic

Traffic goals will send people from Facebook to any destination you choose, such as your website's landing page, a blog post, app, phone call, etc.

Use when: You want people to visit your website to fill out a landing page, or just to generate more traffic to your website that you’ve worked so hard to optimize.

  • Engagement

This will make sure the ad reaches people more likely to engage with your post. Engagement includes likes, comments and shares but can also include offers claimed from your page.

Use when: Your Facebook posts aren’t getting the love that you would like. Increased engagement on your Facebook page will lead to better performance with your ads in the future.

  • Video Views

Your video will be shared with people on Facebook most likely to watch it.

Use when: You want to create brand awareness, or to create a pool of people to retarget. (Pro tip: When creating a retargeting campaign, you can retouch anyone who has watched even part of your videos).

  • Lead Generation

This is one of the best features of Facebook ads. This goal will collect leads for your business. An ad will be created that collects info from people interested in your product, such as sign-ups for newsletters, or have people give your business a call.

Use when: You want to keep people on the Facebook platform while still collecting their information for your business to reach out to them.

  • Messages

You will be able to connect with people on Messenger, Instagram Direct, and WhatsApp and communicate with potential or existing customers to encourage interest in your business.

Use when: You want to generate leads quickly with very little barriers between you and your leads. (Open rate on Messenger is up to 80%, just so you know).

There is a lot that goes into ad creation on Facebook, but it is the most effective way to reach your target audience. Facebook advertising helps businesses increase visibility for their business, build brand awareness, get leads, and close deals!
